In 2012 Patch Theatre celebrates forty years, a major milestone for any theatre company, and has lined up a year of celebrations that includes the premiere of its new work, A Lion in the Night and a tour to the Kennedy Centre in Washington with its critically acclaimed production, Emily Loves to Bounce.

South Australia's internationally recognised children's theatre company, Patch Theatre, has been nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Production for Children for the 2011 season of Me and My Shadow at the Sydney Opera House.

On August 1, Patch Theatre's poetic visual theatre narrative Me and My Shadow won the 2011 Helpmann Award for Best Children's Presentation in the Annual Helpmann Awards ceremony at the Sydney Opera House.
