(1.) LIST
(a.) Ask the children to help you make a list of all the things they have to do in the morning before they leave for school. eg get up, go to the toilet etc. Compare two children's morning routines to demonstrate differences.
(b.) Then tell the children, Henry's story. "When Henry went to stay at his Grans overnight, she told him that they would have to catch the train to school the next day at 8.10am the next morning. So Henry and his gran made a list of things he had to do so that they could get to the train on time."
(c.) Show the picture list to the children. (download powerpoint) Recite the list together.
(d.) Clap your hands and chant the list together. Here it is: wake up, go to the toilet, get dressed, eat your breakfast, (next page) clean your teeth, pack your school bag, drive to the station, get your ticket for the train and catch the train to school.
