Patch's 2022 Program Revealed

November 18th, 2021

Not only is Patch turning 50 in 2022, we'll be on the road touring to four major arts Festivals 🥳

At Sydney Festival in January, the National Maritime Museum will invite audiences to paint a voyage in light at a 5-week season of Sea of Light, and help a lost star find its way home when ZOOOM opens at Riverside Theatres Parramatta.

In February, we take our Ruby Award winning interactive light and sound wonderland Patch's Lighthouse to Perth Festival, and Sea of Light heads regional to Bathurst.

March sees the premiere of Mirror Mirror, an outdoor interactive kaleidoscope installation created bespoke for WOMADelaide at the KidZone, before ZOOOM crosses the ditch for its New Zealand premiere at Auckland Arts Festival.

We'll then focus on developing a new in-theatre work, Home, delving into what it means to belong, exploring difference whilst celebrating diversity in a unique collaboration with Restless Dance Theatre. This will open for schools and families in August at Adelaide Festival Centre, before touring Regional SA.

September school holidays sees a season of ZOOOM at Sydney Opera House, and touring to Hobart and Western Australia. October is rounded off with Sea of Light at Lift Off! Festival at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

In between we'll be rolling out Spark, our on demand in schools program, and launching a new opportunity for an Artist in Residence in partnership with Adelaide Fringe,

We can't wait to share the magic of Patch Theatre with young people and their families in 2022!

50 Years of Memories

What is Patch but the people? We'd love you to spin us a yarn!

Being 50 years old means two million children have experienced a Patch performance. We want to hear about your experience. Maybe you sewed a costume, brought a class of preschoolers, operated a tech desk, programmed Patch to perform in a venue, or were mesmerised in an audience. Tell us about your experience.
