Welcoming a new Board member

September 2nd, 2026

Welcome to the Patch Board, Becc!

Patch Theatre is delighted to welcome an exciting appointment to our Board, Becc Bates.

Becc brings to the board a deep understanding of South Australia’s arts and creative industries, with a distinguished career spanning economic development, music industry management, and arts related government roles.

Speaking of her appointment, Becc says: “I have long admired the magic of Patch’s work — how it brings theatre and innovative design together to captivate children’s imaginations and create such genuine delight and joy. Patch has been an important part of Australia’s arts sector for more than 50 years, and I’m thrilled to join the Board and contribute to its next chapter.”

Chair of Patch Theatre, Sam Haren, says: "We’re thrilled to welcome Becc Bates to the Patch Board. Becc brings a wealth of experience and knowledge across the arts and cultural sector, from leading ILA and through her many years working with the Department of Innovation and Skills and Arts SA. We’re excited to have her expertise on the Board as Patch continues to grow and evolve."
