Are you ready for a challenge? Learn the clap sequence from Me & My Shadow.

Learn the clap sequence

Inspired by Me & My Shadow, playing at the Space Theatre this August.

Watch our video tutorial below and follow these instructions.

You will need:

  • A friend or family member

  • Patience, determination and coordination

PART ONE

  • Clap your hands together

  • Clap your right hand on your left leg

  • Clap your hands together again

  • Clap your left hand on your right leg

  • Brush both hands back and forward on the outside of your legs

  • Clap your hands together twice

  • Do a drum roll on your legs with both hands

  • Clap your hands together twice

  • Jump around in a full circle

Practise makes perfect!

PART TWO

  • Swing your hands up to your shoulders, placing opposite hand on opposite shoulder

  • Point your elbows out in front, keeping your hands on your shoulders and your arms crossed

  • Clap the backs of your hands together twice, keep them together after the second clap

  • Move your hands down, turning at the wrist so your palms are together and your arms are straight out in front

  • Bend your elbows and bring your hands towards you through the gap in your arms

  • Keep rotating your arms through the gap and unfurl your hands so your arms are straight out in front and your palms facing away from you

Put that all together! Can you combine it with Part One?

PART THREE

  • Slightly bend your knees

  • Kick your left foot up to your left hip, tap your heel with your left hand

  • Kick your right foot up to your right hip, tap your heel with your right hand

  • Kick your left foot up across your body to your right hip, tap your heel with your right hand

  • Kick your right foot up across your body to your left hip, tap your heel with your left hand

  • Tap the side of the foot closest to your partner on their foot closest to you - they should do the same

  • Tap the side of the foot furthest from your partner on their foot furthest from you - they should do the same

  • Bend at the hips and tap your butts together

  • Try to escape - are you stuck?!

  • Take a big jump apart

  • Run backwards until your butts are stuck together again - look out!

  • Lift your front foot and press the bottom of your foot to the bottom of your partners - oh no, are you stuck again?!

  • Can you push apart?

This takes some coordination!

All together now!

How far can you go without making a mistake? Try again!

How fast can you go? Can you do it to music?
