Shadow Drawing

Create artworks of your favourite toys using their shadows!

You Will Need:

Light or sunshine / toys / paper / pencils / enthusiasm

How to:

1. Line up your favourite toys or items at the edge of the paper with light or the sun above to create shadows on the paper.
2. Trace the shadows of your favourite toys
3. Colour inside your tracings (and outside too if you want!)

EXPLORE

  • Fill your shadows with pebbles or other small items

  • Trace your shadows in the sunshine, come back every hour or two and trace them again to see how they have moved

CAPTURE
Take photos of your artworks and send them to a friend or family member

WRITE
Create your own story about the artworks you have created. Perhaps your drawings come to life or have secret conversations that only they can hear!
