It's a String Thing Visual Story

To support children with sensory sensitivities, Patch has created a Visual Story for It's a String Thing.

These resources are designed to help teachers, parents and carers prepare children for their visit to It's a String Thing, giving them a clear idea of what to expect from the experience.

The Visual Story outlines the experience in the theatre highlighting key moments and describing lighting, sound and audience participation elements in simple, reassuring language.

We have created three formats to suit different needs and settings:

  • A PowerPoint version for use in classrooms (5.9MB)

  • An accessible PDF with image descriptions for screen readers (4.8MB)

  • A plain text version for maximum compatibility with assistive technologies (58KB)

These tools aim to make It's a String Thing as welcoming, safe and enjoyable as possible for all children.
