We are excited to share our school program for 2027, including both in- and out-of-school experiences.

Our 2027 schools' program includes the world premiere of our new interactive installation as well as our two SPARK in-school shows, and offers the opportunity to experience Patch's work in Adelaide and regional SA.

All Patch performances have accompanying education materials enabling you to extend the experience and learning into your classroom.

Glow Nations: Where the Birds Go

Adelaide & Regional SA | Terms 2 & 3 | Preschool – Year 4

Patch Theatre's spectacular new interactive installation Glow Nations is premiering in Adelaide in terms 2 and 3 before heading off on a regional tour of SA in term 3.

From nests to beaches, from skies to seas, Glow Nations celebrates belonging, journeys and the beauty of the places we call home.

Patch performers guide children to explore movement and sound as they gather to create a story together, celebrating connection and belonging, like birds returning home after a long journey.

Developed with First Nations and culturally diverse artists and informed by education and biological science experts from Adelaide University, Glow Nations brings together culture, creativity and science in an experience that inspires curiosity, imagination and connection.

SPARK

Year-round | On-demand | In your classroom

Bring the magic of theatre to your classroom with SPARK — a series of interactive in-school experiences. In each SPARK session, one of our artists invites students to shape the experience, providing unique, student-led creative learning.

We have two SPARK experiences available for booking in 2027: Glow & Tell and It's a String Thing

Glow & Tell

Reception – Year 3 | 30 minutes

A classroom transformed into a glowing story world.

Using UV light inside a custom-built tent, the classroom becomes an up close performance space where glowing drawings appear across the walls and floor as stories unfold.

Following the performance, children are invited to tell their own stories using UV torches to create and draw.

Each story is created and performed by one of our artists: Edgell Junior Edgell (Ni-Vanuatu), Evyenía Stefanidis (Greek-Australian) and Ayden Martin (Narungga/Arrernte).

Through light, storytelling and creativity, Glow & Tell celebrates culture, family and the power of imagination.

It's a String Thing

Preschool – Year 1 | 45 minutes

A box of things becomes a story of strings.

A performer arrives carrying a mysterious box. From inside emerges an ever-changing string — soft, bumpy, squishy, stretchy and full of surprises.

As the string grows and transforms, it becomes a playful guide weaving absurd, abstract and wildly imaginative stories that children help shape.

Performed to one class at a time, It’s a String Thing offers an up-close experience where every child can engage in their own way.

A companion picture book remains in the classroom alongside creative activities that extend the experience long after the performance ends.
