Glow Nations FAQs

August 5th, 2026

Coming to Glow Nations? We’ve answered all of your questions about our new interactive installation.

What is Glow Nations about?

Glow Nations is a brand new production from Patch Theatre.

From nests to beaches, from skies to seas, Glow Nations celebrates belonging, journeys and the beauty of the places we call home. Exploring human migration through the medium of birds, children will explore themes of identity, belonging, connection and diversity.

Developed with First Nations and culturally diverse artists and informed by education and biological science experts from Adelaide University, Glow Nations brings together culture, creativity and science in an experience that inspires curiosity, imagination and connection.

What is an interactive installation?

Interactive installations are participatory performances for children and their families, often presented outside of traditional theatre spaces.

During Glow Nations, audiences are led by performers through the installation space (a series of interconnected rooms) engaging with hands-on experiences. We encourage children to explore through play, movement, touch and vocal expression.

Patch Theatre’s other interactive installations include Wonderverse, Superluminal and The Lighthouse — all of which received exceptional feedback from children and teachers.

You can read more about the process of creating an interactive installation in this interview with Patch creators Geoff and Maddog.
