What is an in-theatre show?
Patch Theatre's in-theatre shows are performances which take place in a theatre setting. Just like when you go to any other show, during Me & My Shadow you will sit in a big theatre and watch performers on stage. You can let the performers know how much you are enjoying the performance by laughing and clapping.
What is the story of Me & My Shadow?
Me & My Shadow is a story about friendship. The characters have lots of adventures together and play with shadow and light all while getting to know each other, solving problems and discovering the trials and joys of friendship.
Where does Me & My Shadow take place?
Me & My Shadow will be performed in the Space Theatre at the Adelaide Festival Centre.
You can park in the Festival Centre Car Park, along Victoria Drive or Memorial Drive, or in one of the many nearby city car parks. There are also many public transport options which can be found on Adelaide Metro.
When will Me & My Shadow be performed?
Me & My Shadow will be performed in August 2026 / Term 3, Weeks 4-6.
Family performances will take place on Saturday 15, 22 and 29 August at 1.00pm and 4.00pm.
School performances will take place on Monday to Thursdays with two sessions each day at 10.00am and 12.30pm. On Friday 14 August, there will be one session at 10.00am.
How long does Me & My Shadow go for?
Me & My Shadow runs for 45 minutes.
What age is Me & My Shadow suitable for?
Me & My Shadow is recommended for children aged 4–8 / Preschool-Year 3.
I have a child with sensory sensitivity, what should I know in advance?
A Visual Story will be available in 2026 to help you understand the experience and what to expect during the show.
In the meantime, here are some good things to know. There are no sudden or very loud sounds in the sound design or music. We recommend children who may find noisy spaces over stimulating bring earmuffs (we will have a small number available to borrow). We take a relaxed approach to audience noise and movement, and children who need a break are welcome to exit and re-enter with guidance from the front-of-house team.
Is Me & My Shadow wheelchair accessible?
Yes, Me & My Shadow is wheelchair accessible. Please provide details of access requirements when booking.
What time should we arrive?
Please plan to check in with the front-of-house team 20 minutes prior to your session time, during this time we will assist you to prepare for the experience.
What if I am running late?
Performances must start at the scheduled time and cannot be delayed, late attendees will miss the beginning of the performance and may not be admitted. We request that you check in with the front-of-house team 20 minutes prior to your session time to prepare for the show.
Can we take videos and photos?
You are unable to take videos or photos during the performance.
However, you are welcome to take videos and photos when you arrive and seated in the auditorium before the show starts. We'd love to see how you enjoy your time so please share and tag us on Facebook @patchtheatre or Instagram @patch_theatre.
Additional information for teachers
How many students can be booked into each session?
The theatre has capacity of over 200 people per session so you can bring many students and teachers to see the show.
How do I book in more than one class/group?
You can book only one session at a time using the booking form. If you wish to book multiple sessions please complete one form per session.
Is there somewhere for students to have recess/lunch?
The Goodman Crescent Lawns, to the left of Bonython Hall, or picnic tables on the plaza to the right of Bonython Hall, see map.
I have students with access requirements, what accommodations can be made?
We warmly welcome people with access needs to our shows.
We have embedded Auslan into the Me & My Shadow performance to assist deaf and Deaf people and help them enjoy the show.
Please let us know of any other access requirements when making your booking so we can discuss any accommodations you may need.
What Education Materials can you provide?
We are developing an Education Resource and Visual Story for Me & My Shadow. We will send the materials to schools who make bookings once they are ready in 2026.
In the meantime, you can find some classroom activities related to the show on our website.
Can I cancel or change our session time?
Please read our Terms & Conditions for all queries related to cancellations or changes in bookings for Me & My Shadow.

Can you book transport for my group?
Unfortunately we are unable to book transport for you. However you can apply for free transport via Adelaide Metro or apply for a grant through Credit Union's Student Impact Program.

South Australian regional and equity schools are invited to contact Adelaide Festival Centre centrED to apply for a transport subsidy should travel costs prohibit attendance at the Space Theatre season of Me & My Shadow.
